American Artists Professional League returns to the historic Howland Cultural Center in Beacon, NY, on display from March 1 through April 13, 2025.

Held in a 19th century library nestled in the quaint town of Beacon, in the heart of the Hudson River Valley, “Realism on the Hudson” is a small works show, celebrating the timeless beauty of traditional realism. Visit the carefully curated exhibit featuring an array of contemporary realist paintings and drawings. The exhibition aims to make accessible contemporary art, encouraging collectors to take home their purchases immediately, with a diverse collection of modestly sized masterpieces.

The Opening & Awards Reception, Saturday afternoon, 1 March, is open to all, inviting collectors and art lovers to connect with the attending artists on a personal level.

I’m flattered to have been invited to give an oil painting demonstration as part of this year’s Realism on the Hudson show at the Howland Cultural Center in Beacon, New York.  I talked a bit about my meandering journey as an artist and answered some great questions from the audience as I blocked in a 40×40″ still-life. Watch the demo on YouTube.

All artwork is for sale at the show and online during the show dates in the AAPLinc.org/artwork-store. The show is on display on two floors of the Howland Cultural Center’s Northcutt Hall Gallery.
